This American Heart Association authorized PALS certification course focuses on providing you with the knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and treat critically ill infants and children. This scenario-based course emphasizes team dynamics with pediatric emergency management of pediatric patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest.

This course covers treatment beyond the first few emergency minutes and goes through stabilizing patients or transport phases of a pediatric emergency in or out of a hospital setting. The PALS certification course is a low stress, hands-on experience taught by veteran instructors in a state of the art facility utilizing the most up-to-date equipment and techniques.

Course Objectives:

  • Recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardio-pulmonary arrest.
  • The systematic approach to pediatric assessment.
  • Effective respiratory management.
  • Validate skills for 1 and 2 person CPR and AED skills for infant and child.
  • Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion.
  • Intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration.
  • Effective resuscitation team dynamics.
Intended Audience:

For medical professionals who may respond to, initiate, or direct advanced life support in a pediatric emergency. This course will provide students certification for credentialed PALS training.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course Guide (includes student CD and PALS pocket reference cards)

Certfifcation course length: Approximately 12 hours

Recertification course length: Approximately 8 hours

Card Type:  PALS card- Good for 2 years
